Position Details
- Job Title: Surgical Tech
- Location: Frisco, CO 80443
- Start Date: 02/03/2025
- Shift: Day Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday (5x8-hour shifts).
- Hours Per Week: 40 hours.
- Pay Rate: $2,200 per week.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical teams during procedures by arranging sterile setups of instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Use physician preference cards to identify necessary items for scheduled or emergency surgeries and update cards as needed.
- Set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, medications, and solutions required for procedures.
- Prepare and label solutions and medications, ensuring accurate charting of amounts used.
- Anticipate surgeons’ needs by preparing back tables and mayo stands.
- Provide instruments, supplies, or equipment upon request to surgeons, nurses, or anesthesiologists.
- Drape and cover sterile fields, including operating and instrument tables.
- Conduct appropriate counts of instruments and materials before, during, and after surgeries.
- Deliver surgical specimens and cultures from the operative field to circulating nurses.
- Maintain the highest standard of sterile techniques by verifying package integrity and handling appropriately.
- Clean, sterilize, and restock supplies and equipment after procedures.
- Assist with terminal cleaning of operating rooms and prepare them for subsequent cases.
- Hold retractors, apply electrocautery, manage suction, and assist in dressing wounds as needed during procedures.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association).
- Certification in Surgical Technology:
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBTSTSA)
- Colorado Only: Registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a Surgical Technologist (if not covered under another clinical license/certification).
Experience:
- One year of experience in a surgical setting.
- Experience in specialty surgical fields.
Skills:
- Proficiency in surgical technology and sterile techniques.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing technologies and workflow.
Float Requirements:
- Floating may be required within 60 miles of the original assignment location.
