Adecco Creative is partnering with one of the NYC’s most iconic footwear brands to recruit for a Sr. Designer, Footwear - Women’s Retail, Outlet, and Runway. This position will be ongoing CONTRACT and is hybrid is New York City. Expertise in 360 footwear creation, hand sketching, and Adobe Illustrator is a must.

Senior Designer, Women’s Retail, Outlet, Runway Footwear

Primary Purpose: The Senior Designer, Women’s Footwear is responsible for developing ideas and executing product designs in line with the conceptual direction for each collection. They partner with individuals internal and external to the brand in Merchandising, Product Development and Materials and Hardware Development, and will help the Head of Design lead the design team in developing each seasonal women’s collections.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Design to...

• Bring seasonal concepts, ideas, new material proposals and new hardware concepts to the table to add newness to seasonal collections.
• Create new original designs and develop sketches and product prototypes throughout the conceptual design process. Partner to refine seasonal concept, materials, hardware, and color palette. As well as create new construction (lasts, heels, outsoles, etc), make construction tech packs and follow up execution with technical team to completion.
• Responsible for timeline adherence; ensure all designs documentation are delivered to development partners on time; ensure all prototypes are available for product presentation and finalization.
• Participate in collection meetings with the Merchandising team: Collection Brief, Sketch Reviews, Prototype Reviews, Collection Detailing, etc. – ensuring that Design driven meetings have all deliverables prepared in time and manner for meetings.
• Responsible for ensuring the design integrity is met throughout the entire product development process from concept through market samples.
• Actively participate in weekly PDT Calendar with partners to ensure the timely and high quality execution of the product and creative vision.

The accomplished individual will possess...

• Ability to sketch both technical drawings and freeform sketches and renderings, and full knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
• Experience in developing product directly with factories; understanding development from concept through manufacturing. Experience in prototype corrections of uppers as well as constructions.
• Experience in leading teams and adherence to Development Milestones as well as working with cross-functional teams.

An outstanding professional will have...

• 7+ years of experience in footwear design with proven abilities in casual and sport shoe categories.
• Bachelor's degree in Design or Design related field preferred
