Are you passionate about supporting students and fostering positive behavioral growth? We're looking for a dedicated Special Education Behavioral Specialist to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed functional behavioral assessments to understand student needs and challenges.
Design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans to ensure student success.
Provide expert crisis intervention and de-escalation support during behavioral incidents.
Train and support teachers and staff in effective behavioral management techniques.
Regularly track and document behavioral progress to ensure continuous development.
Work in close partnership with teachers, counselors, and other support staff to create a holistic approach to student development.
Maintain open, proactive communication with families, providing them with updates on strategies and student progress.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
Valid South Carolina teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
A minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience in a school setting, specifically working with students with behavioral needs.
Strong background in positive behavior support systems and strategies.
In-depth understanding of applied behavior analysis principles.
Excellent crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain a calm, supportive presence in challenging situations.
