Position Overview

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field construction operations on large-scale commercial projects, with a focus on airport construction and infrastructure. This role involves managing daily site activities, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety regulations, and quality standards, and coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Core Functions

Project Management

• Supervise large-scale or multiple commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Lead and manage on-site teams, including internal staff and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying critical paths and adjusting as necessary.

Construction & Compliance

• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, building codes, and airport-specific regulations.
• Work with local city, county, and airport authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Implement cost-saving measures through value engineering while maintaining project quality.

Financial Oversight

• Manage project budgets, cost controls, and subcontractor payments.
• Oversee work-in-place (WIP) estimates, payroll processing, and material invoices.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks related to schedule delays, productivity, and costs.

Safety & Quality Control

• Develop and enforce jobsite safety programs in collaboration with the EH&S team.
• Ensure adherence to airport-specific safety protocols.
• Oversee mock-ups and quality control processes to ensure contract compliance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of commercial construction experience, including airport projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software, with experience in estimating and contract management.
• Strong understanding of building codes, compliance regulations, and airport construction requirements.
• Established relationships with airport authorities, developers, and architects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
