Job Title: Scientist III (Functional Genomics and Sequencing Scientist)

Duties:
Seeking a highly motivated Functional Genomics and Sequencing Scientist to contribute to the growth and success of our Functional Genomics and Sequencing Laboratory (FGSL). This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supporting therapeutic areas (TAs) including Immunology and Respiratory, Oncology, and Cardiovascular Renal Metabolic Research Diseases. The scientist will partner closely with Computational Biology and Data Sciences (CBDS) and FGSL staff to design and execute cutting-edge functional genomics experiments, develop and implement innovative protocols, and deliver high-quality data to accelerate discovery and development programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform a variety of functional genomics assays, including CRISPR screening, bulk RNA-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq on tissues, cells, or nuclei suspensions
Operate and maintain advanced lab equipment (e.g., NovaSeq X+); troubleshoot and solve scientific and technical challenges independently and efficiently
Maintain laboratory supplies and ensure equipment readiness for routine and walk-up use
Collaborate with TA scientists to design experiments and interpret data, contributing to decision-making in cross-functional teams
Author protocols, procedures, and technical reports with minimal supervision
Provide training on functional genomics assays and sequencing technologies to TA scientists
Participate in FGSL workflows, including meetings, to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data integrity
