Description

Seeking a Scientist II/III to join our Biotherapeutics Discovery team. This exciting opportunity is focused on the discovery of biotherapeutics for unmet medical needs, particularly within the New Biologic Expression, Purification, and Characterization (NBEPC) group. The role will involve expertise in protein purification, specifically for monoclonal antibodies and antibody formats.

As part of a high-throughput team, you will provide critical material and data for multiple project teams, supporting the development of cutting-edge biological drugs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Scientific Experiments: Conduct experiments that contribute to the development of biological drugs, specifically in protein purification and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) evaluation.
• High-Throughput Support: Perform daily high-throughput experiments, supporting senior scientists in planning and analyzing data.
• Data Communication: Prepare and communicate findings via technical reports and oral presentations. Regularly update the team and management regarding project goals and data.
• Maintain Scientific Excellence: Ensure continued scientific excellence in protein purification, expression, and biophysical characterization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent the NBEPC group on project teams, helping to define and prioritize project issues and goals.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all applicable regulations and ensure that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and SOPs.

Skills & Experience:

Scientist II Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry or related scientific field with 2+ years of experience, or Master’s Degree with relevant experience.

Scientist III Requirements:

• Education: Master’s Degree in Biochemistry or related scientific field with 3+ years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to act in the supervisor's absence.

Skills for Both Levels:

• Expertise in Protein Purification: Extensive experience in protein purification techniques, including SDS-PAGE, Western Blot Analysis, HPLC, and protein characterization.
• Broad Biochemical Knowledge: Knowledge of aggregation, glycosylation, and other protein analyses.
• Multi-Tasking & Organization: Ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously in a team-oriented environment.
• Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective Communication: Ability to communicate technical information effectively in both oral and written forms, within a local and international interdisciplinary environment.
• Motivation & Independence: Must be highly motivated, independent, and capable of performing under minimal supervision.
• Antibody & Multi-Specific Molecule Expertise: Preferred experience with antibodies and multi-specific molecules.
• Laboratory Automation & High-Throughput Experience: Familiarity with laboratory automation, high-throughput process development, and digitalization is a plus.
• Pharmaceutical Experience: Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
