Northwest HealthCare , six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. The Ultrasound Department provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. Routine ultrasound services include obstetrical, gynecological, abdominal, small parts, color flow, and spectral Doppler diagnostic examinations. Services are offered in the department as well as at bedside to patients in the ICU and the PCU.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging
Responsibilities Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.
Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
Performs studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
