POSITION SUMMARY
Employees occupying positions of this class are responsible for providing plumbing services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; fabricates, assembles, installs, alters, dismantles, repairs, replaces and/or upgrades plumbing systems and related appurtenances (including but not limited to metal, plastic, ceramic, and composition), waste water systems and hydraulic systems for the transportation of solids, liquids, or gases; ensuring compliance with accessibility, health and safety codes; ensuring completion of projects in accordance with trade standards; providing information on the proper uses of equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at the job site.
Work is typically performed alone but may be performed as a member of a team of other Plumbers or personnel from other Trades. Executes all work assignments within the constraints of authorized expenditures and applicable District standards.

SALARY : $46.06/hour plus swing shift differential ($1.06/hour) with paid 30 minute lunch period
WORK YEAR : 260 days
FTE : 1.0 (40 hours/week)
WORK SCHEDULE: Swing Shift 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm Monday - Friday
Training and Experience:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training: Completion of a State of Oregon qualified apprenticeship program in a related field;
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems; OR A combination of related training and experience which equals five (5) years.
License or Certificate required: Possession of a valid state driver's license. Possession of a valid Oregon State Journeyman Plumber License.
Desired State of Oregon Credentials: An Industry Brazing Certificate is a plus.
Special Requirements: Employees in this classification are required to obtain and maintain, throughout the course of employment, certification of successful completion of a Class III Asbestos Abatement course meeting EPA requirements for training local education agency maintenance and custodial staff [40 CFR 763.92(a)(2)].
