Description Job Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for the management of the Assisted Living, Independent Living, and/or Memory Care community.
Supervisory Responsibilities - Oversees the daily administration of the organization by implementing policies, procedures, and programs.
- Drafts and implements performance standards; conducts performance reviews for senior leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities - Complete oversight of all aspects resident care, programming, staffing and facilities maintenance and fiscal management.
- Ensuring that operation is at all times in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Enforcing safe and fiscally responsible admission and retention policies.
- Keeping operation within monthly budget.
- Plan and coordinate health services.
- Work collaboratively with physicians to implement appropriate healthcare programs.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures.
- Take an active role in community relations, marketing, and admissions.
- Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision making.
- Ensuring resident satisfaction through quality assurance programs and direct involvement in customer service.
- Conducts training classes, on-the-job training, and orientation programs for all associates.
- Creating and implementing policies and procedures to better the operation and quality of care.
- Ensuring that all possible efforts are being made to assist and facilitate billing and collection of monthly rents.
- Respond in a timely manner to requests of residents, families, and guests’ programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements Required Skills & Abilities:

- Maintains basic knowledge of computer software and internet platforms, including email.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting terminology and processes.
- Desire to work with older adults and their families.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Projects a positive and professional image at all times.
Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in Assisted Living required.
- Experience in a managerial role required.
- Must have required licensure/ credentialing.
- Meet state or provincial health related requirements.
- Maintain any other certification as required by state or provincial regulations.
Physical Requirements - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
- Able to stand or walk 75% of the day.
- Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions.
- Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping.
- Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and other conditions.
- Use personal protective equipment and supplies when needed.
- Subject to infectious diseases, substances, and odors.
