About the Role & Team

Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) is the business unit within Disney Entertainment that leads the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming brands: Disney+ and Hulu.

The segment has oversight over all strategy and business operations for Disney Entertainment’s DTC services, partnering across the organization to make our services the global leaders in streaming.

What You Will Do

Our multi-disciplined team is seeking a creative, proactive designer to build beautiful, compelling visual assets for a variety of audiences, both external and internal, across DTC.

The  Design Manager will lead development and design of a variety of assets for both external and internal audiences. They will work primarily for the Direct-to-Consumer business unit and report into the Director, Office of the President to build visuals that tell a clear story, with fun and magic weaved in. While they will primarily support DTC, they will also support Platform Distribution and Product/Technology on an as-needed basis in partnership with our Communications Team.

There are a few key content verticals the Design Manager will own from a design perspective:

  • Internal Communications

  • Executive Communications

  • Infographics

  • Events Collateral

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with communications leads across Direct-to-Consumer (and at times, Platform Distribution and Product/Technology) to develop narrative ideas that can turn into visual tactics

  • Concept and build a variety of visual assets for internal communications, including employee-wide communications via email or other communications platforms, newsletters, branded templates, employee Town Halls, and presentations

  • Work closely with executives to build presentations and other ad hoc, quick-turn visual requests

  • Create infographics that tell a clear and compelling visual story of business results, viewership trends, how a technology works, etc.

  • Develop a visual identity and suite of assets for various employee events.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related work experience in graphic design, creative communications, advertising, or a related field.

  • Extensive knowledge of graphic design & branding.

  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and engaging directly with senior leadership.

  • Strong ability to communicate, present, and advocate for creative ideas in both formal and informal settings.

  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize deadlines efficiently.

  • Advanced proficiency in Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator), and other design tools.

  • Robust design experience creating internal communication visuals for platforms such as Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce, as well as collaborative messaging tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for the storytelling entertainment industry, especially streaming.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Art or Design, or a related field.

The hiring range for this position in CA is $113,800.00 to $152,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
